While I was in Atlanta, I got a chance to go into Wax N’ Facts in Little Five Points and explore. I spent a little over an hour in there, and I walked away with some good stuff. I think so, anyway. No one in my house truly appreciates the finds I made and now I am turning to the Internet for reassurance.
Please. Tell me I done good.
I may have failed to mention this before, but I have, like, a slight obsession with Hall and Oates.
PARTY OUT OF BOUNDS!
And the Pièce de résistance…
So, not only is this my favorite B-52s album, it’s in immaculate condition, it was the one album I was not expecting to find due to me refusing to believe anyone that owned it would ever give it up.
Being unemployed still continues to suck. Owning a mint condition copy of “Cosmic Thing” makes it suck a tad bit less.
Amen and shake your honey buns.
One day, I’m going to make friends with a really, REALLY BIG Sondre Lerche fan on Tumblr, and when I say things like, “OMG. That second hand embarrassment you feel from hearing the audience not remember the words to “Modern Nature” during a Sondre Lerche show”, this fan is going to reblog that post and add a corresponding .gif to express how embarrassing it is.
It’s gonna be glorious.
I have a job interview at a marina on Monday. The guy that called me to set up the interview—the general manager I gather—was hilarious and lively…and I think he was really shocked when I immediately picked up on his sense of humor and jumped right on board. He told me the phone call he made before mine was dull, and he quickly got off the phone with them. So look, universe, I don’t know crap about boats and I don’t even know how to swim, but the idea of working at a marina sounds so kick ass…AND I wrote (and am still writing) a web series called ENCODED and one of the main characters is named Marina and she’s basically my favorite character I’ve ever written. That’s gotta count for something. MAKE IT SO!
